The EU banned the import of biscuits from Bosnia and Herzegovina, with recommendations

Due
to an excessive amount of acrylamide, EU inspections banned the import
of six consignments of biscuits and sweets originating from BiH.

Otherwise acrylamide has in fried foods such as potatoes, chips and
coffee, and in baked food such as biscuits, crackers, cereals and bakery
products.

The content of acrylamide in food is not regulated in BiH, as well as
in European countries, but only the recommendations of the European
food authority are used.

Inform manufacturers to take all the necessary production measures with a minimum of acrylamide.
